Apollo Brown & Joell Ortiz Release First Visual From Collaborative Project Mona Lisa
“When I Get Dumb I Get Numb”
Apollo Brown and Joell Ortiz’ collaborative project, Mona
Lisa, made quite an impact upon its release on 10-26-18. The project premiered at #3 on the iTunes
Hip-Hop chart and held that spot for more than a week. It also premiered at #3 on the Amazon Hip-Hop
chart and held down the #1 spot on Bandcamp’s bestseller list.
Today, the duo has unveiled the first visual, “Cocaine
Fingertips,” from the project via an exclusive premiere with HipHopDx.
"'Cocaine Fingertips” was one of the joints on the album
where I decided to just have fun with bars over Apollo’s raw production” Joell
stated. “I knew it needed a visual once
we listened back! I felt like the video should be both fun and raw. Lotta fun
filming this! Hope you all enjoy.”
“Cocaine Fingertips” called for a video as soon as it was
recorded” Apollo Brown echoed. “It was completely visual from the point the
beat dropped. Joell went in super raw on this joint and gave you the content
and wordplay deserved for this type of sound. We laughed pretty much the whole
session. We also laughed pretty much the entire making of the video. I hope you
enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it.”
